Rules, fees and safety
Honest dealing, plain rules, no surprises.
Fees
- Listing is free. Buyers pay no fee.
- Card sales (Buy now): the seller pays a 8% Trading Post fee, taken when the buyer pays. Stripe's own processing fee is charged by Stripe on the seller's account.
- A full refund returns our fee to the seller. A partial refund returns part of it.
- Cash or other payment in person at pickup: no fee from us.
- Optional upgrades: Bump to the top $1.99, Featured for 7 days $4.99, Featured for 30 days $19.99.
Who you are buying from
Sellers are members like you, not BRO. When you pay by card you pay the seller directly through their own Stripe account. The seller is the seller of record: they handle refunds, returns and disputes. If a seller does not answer you within 3 days, write vip@bro.com and we will step in where we can.
What cannot be listed
- Firearms, ammunition, gun parts, explosives, fireworks and weapons of any kind
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, nicotine, cannabis, drugs and drug gear
- Prescription medicine, medical devices that need a prescription, and any miracle-cure or "heals" claim
- Adult content or anything sexual
- Live animals
- Recalled or unsafe baby gear (drop-side cribs, inclined sleepers, expired or crashed car seats)
- Stolen, counterfeit, replica or "inspired by" brand goods
- Gift cards, crypto, money orders, loans, investments, MLM and "business opportunities"
- Tickets above face value, accounts, logins and personal data
- Occult items, hate symbols, or anything that is not family-friendly
Listings are checked automatically and by people. Breaking the rules gets listings removed and accounts paused.
Stay safe
- Use Buy now when you can: you pay by card through Stripe and the seller never sees your card.
- Meeting in person? Pick a public place in daylight: a church lobby, a coffee shop or a police "safe exchange" spot. Bring a friend.
- Never pay with gift cards, wire transfers or crypto, and never pay ahead for something you have not seen when paying cash.
- Never share a code sent to your phone or email. Anyone asking for one is running a scam.
- Keep the conversation in Trading Post messages, so we can help if something goes wrong.
- If something feels wrong, walk away and tap Report.
